CNOC Steering Committee Co-Chairs
We are thrilled to provide several exciting announcements for our organization. First, through patient and family partnerships alongside our communications, learning and resources, and community outreach committees, CNOC’s website now has a dedicated Patients and Families page! These efforts are part of a Task Force led by Erin Beckemeier, Chetna Pande, and Heather Watson to create a central resource with the most up to date information about cardiac neurodevelopment for patients and families. The Task Force has developed some incredible resources and are working diligently to put many more on our website. Please check back frequently for the latest updates!
In addition to our website resources, CNOC has also formed a Family Advisory Council to bring together patients, parents, and caregivers with lived experience of congenital heart disease and cardiac neurodevelopment to ensure patient and family voices are included in all aspects of CNOC. Click here, and read below, to learn more.
We are also excited to share the latest publication from the CNOC clinical data registry, Early Neurodevelopmental Outcomes in Children with Congenital Heart Disease, which was just published this month in JAMA Network Open. This publication highlights the heterogeneity of outcomes by cardiac diagnosis and emphasizes the importance of neurodevelopmental surveillance for infants undergoing heart surgery in the first year of life.
Last but not least, we are looking forward to the fast approaching Scientific Sessions and cannot wait to see everyone in person in Wilmington, Delaware in September!
