Description of Inpatient Program(s): WeeMove program, Physical and Occupational therapists in the ICU engage children in activities that will get them up and moving. Clinical therapy evaluation (PT and OT) for single ventricle patients.
Description of Outpatient Program(s): ASQ questionnaire at 6 and 12 months; Bayley testing at 12 and 24 months; Neuropsychological evaluation at 3 and 5 years and at later ages as clinically indicated. Neurodevelopmental screening in the pediatric Fontan clinic.
Description of research or QI projects in cardiac neurodevelopment – undergoing or accomplished: Part of NPC-QIC Gross motor Improvement. CNOC QI project to improve ambulatory cardiology identification and recognition of high-risk neurodevelopmental status
QI project to improve the referrals for neuropsychology at 3 years of age.

Unique features and strengths of this program: The program is designed to be an integral part of the Heart Center without needing extra resources to maintain. With cardiology being the “medical home” the program tapped into the existing resources to deliver high standard services.
