Conference highlights include:
- Sessions dedicated to excellence in interdisciplinary neurodevelopmental care, showcasing the latest science, innovative clinical interventions, and healthcare policy.
- Shape the future of CHD care! Join national leaders and fellow advocates in Session 1: Building Partnerships to learn how to effectively support and expand healthcare access. Later in Session 8: Access to Care – Pedaling Together Instead of Recreating the Wheel, discover innovative strategies for collaborative solutions for improving access to care for patients with congenital heart disease.
- The two-part Hiker’s Guide to Neuroprotection will bring together multidisciplinary experts in the fields of cardiology, critical care, surgery, anesthesia, neurology, nursing, rehab therapy, and psychology, as well as caregivers. These sessions will highlight the importance of neuroprotection and provide strategies for optimizing care of the patient with congenital heart disease at all phases of care, spanning from prenatal diagnosis to early postoperative recovery.

Jessica Cowin, MS The Cardiac Neurodevelopmental Advocacy and Engagement Award will be presented to Jessica Cowin MS, who has made significant contributions to advocacy, community engagement, or outreach within the areas of cardiac neurodevelopment, mental health, and/or quality of life leading to improvements in the lives of individuals with pediatric or congenital heart disease and their families.

- The Program Building Expedition: Navigating Inpatient and Outpatient Cardiac Neurodevelopmental Programs. For those developing or looking to enhance a neurodevelopmental program, this session features practical program presentations and a comprehensive panel discussion covering key aspects including finance, data entry, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Gain valuable insights and actionable steps for building a sustainable and impactful neurodevelopmental program in both inpatient and outpatient environments.
- Vital Trails: Neurosurveillance along the Cardiac Expedition. Delve into the cutting-edge science of neuromonitoring in patients with CHD. This session will explore the latest research and clinical innovations in EEG and NIRS, offering insights into their application for improved understanding and management of neurological outcomes in this population.
- As always, selected scientific work will be on display as posters and oral presentations for the Best of the Best submitted abstracts. New this year are Moderated Poster Sessions to highlight more of the incredible work being done across this field.
